The students arrived in small processions and took position in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh on Tuesday afternoon.

Most of the protesters are higher secondary students. They were seen chanting slogans such as “Who are you, who am I, we are together,” “Justice, justice, we want justice,” “Death penalty, death penalty, we demand the death penalty for rapists,” “In our golden Bengal, there is no place for rapists,” “Light the fire, burn it down,” and “Set fire to the rapists’ seats.”

The students said that they had initially planned to blockade Shahbagh in protest against violence against women.
